I met Susan about a year ago when we were both working at Carnegie Hall. She was engaged at the time, and I was lucky enough to shoot engagement photos of her and Brandon in the spring as well as their beautiful wedding a few weeks ago.
It has been great getting to know Susan and Brandon as a couple. They are pretty incredible. They met in New York while in grad school at NYU, and have lived there ever since they moved to Indianapolis about a month and a half ago.
Are you doing the math in your head? Yeah… they moved across the country, started new jobs, the traveled back across the country to get married in New York all within TWO MONTHS. I repeat: two months. That’s more major life changes than most people will encounter in a year (or two or three??), but Susan and Brandon did it all without skipping a beat.
Their wedding took place at the Thayer Hotel at West Point and it really could not have been more perfect. It was a bright, sunny fall day in the Bear Mountain region of New York’s Hudson Valley and this October weekend was prime leaf peeping season. I’ll normally listen to podcasts while driving, but it didn’t even cross my mind on the ride up because there was so much crazy beautiful fall happening outside.
Susan and Brandon had a beautiful outdoor ceremony (they wrote their own vows and I cried a lot) followed by a reception filled with family, friends, and dancing. I’m so glad I could be a part of their day!
